Surgery & Other Hospital Admissions
Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy play an important role in regaining mobility and function and thus returning to independence following surgery and other hospital admissions.
The role of physiotherapy and exercise has been shown to be vital for recovery following both elective and emergency surgeries. Whether you are about to undergo a total hip replacement or are just back home following cardiac surgery, we can provide targeted and supervised exercise programmes to progress your mobility and function, so that you can return to normal as quickly as possible.
We understand that physical fitness can deteriorate during a long hospital admission. We want to help you regain your strength and fitness, so that you are able to enjoy all the activities you did previously.
If you are finding things more difficult than before, our OT would be delighted to do a home assessment, to see if any equipment can be provided to make life easier for you.
